Syngenta is recalling all purchased Primo Maxx II stocks due to the presence of a particular ingredient causing the formulation to be out of market specification. There is no evidence to indicate that the issue has caused any reduction in the efficacy of the product nor any safety concerns for users or effect on the environment. Primo Maxx II has continued to provide the expected benefits to turf performance and quality. The only difference is that the product should have been classified as flammable, class 3. This means that different labels and storage measures are now required to be in place prior to recall.

We will inform you of the next stage of the recall process as soon as possible. At the moment it is important to follow the instructions below:

IDENTIFY affected product

  • 1. Wear appropriate PPE whilst handling this material including protective gloves, refer to Safety Data Sheet.
  • 2. Identify if you have any material labelled as Primo Maxx II on your premises.
  • 3. Immediately cease all use of this product.

  • 2. 5 litre & 10 litre packs: IN ORIGINAL FIBREBOARD BOX: Download the appropriate hazard label and place over the existing hazard label on the outside of the box. All bottles inside the box must also be relabelled as flammable. There are 2 different hazard labels; for the 5 litre pack use the “5 litre and below” hazard label and for the 10 litre pack use the “over 5 litre” hazard label.
  • 3. 5 litre & 10 litre packs: BOTTLES ONLY: Download the appropriate hazard label and place over the existing hazard label on the bottle. There are 2 different hazard labels; for the 5 litre pack use the “5 litre and below” hazard label and for the 10 litre pack use the “over 5 litre” hazard label.
  • 4. 20 litre drums: Download the appropriate hazard label and place over existing hazard label
  • 5. If it is not possible to print out new hazard labels, as a minimum each container must be marked as flammable on the label in permanent maker. Other mechanisms of identifying this as a flammable liquid such as appropriate stickers are also acceptable.

    How to STORE

    Product Information

Primo Maxx II is an advanced, liquid plant growth regulator to be used on managed turf grass areas. Primo Maxx II can be used Mixed with line marking paint to help preserve line quality and visibility for up to 50% longer. (See info sheet in 'Downloads for correct application rates).

Primo Maxx II reduces top growth while improving both sward density and root mass. It has a unique active ingredient which reduces vertical growth, increases food reserves and lateral stem development.
